THE QUEEN OF SHEBA AND Q

The Queen of Sheba and Q

Multiple newspaper reports here and here this morning describe an hundred or more followers of Q, many with Donald Trump banners or other alt right symbols, loitering around Dealey Plaza in Dallas where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in November 1963. They are waiting for the miraculous reappearance of his son John Jr. who died in a plane crash in July 1999. They expect an imminent announcement that Donald Trump will run for reelection with the late JFK, Jr as his running mate. These are just a few of the perhaps hundreds of thousands of Q Anon followers, and their expectations are driven by several “leaders” among the multitude who believe in the Q conspiracies. Like the Queen of Sheba who traveled great distances to sit at the feet of Solomon, these Americans have traveled to Dallas from the four corners of the country not to hear the Rolling Stones, but to wait for instructions, exchange news and hear about their mission.

Solomon

Solomon reigned 970 B.C.–931 B.C. He was one of David’s sons, and he is credited with building the first temple. Solomon had a stellar reputation for wisdom. People in the ancient world sought him out, much as others consulted with the Oracle of Delphi. But unlike Q, everyone knew exactly who Solomon was. And Solomon had an outstanding record on which to stand, whereas Q’s record is a dismal failure. For example:

While I am not surprized that people follow others into some spiritual wilderness, I am amazed at the devoted loyalty to someone whose identity is a complete mystery. He may as well be the Wizard of Oz, the Mad Hatter, Bozo the Clown, or D.B. Cooper.

The Queen of Sheba

Returning to the Queen of Sheba…Jesus says to the crowd following him in Luke 11:31: “The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here.” What Jesus is saying is that the Queen of Sheba came a great distance at considerable personal expense just to hear the moral teachings of a great but mortal man (Solomon.) However, the people who heard Jesus speak these words should not be awe-stricken at the mention of Solomon, because they were in the presence of God, Himself in the flesh. Jesus also says elsewhere that “...where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20.). This is true even (and especially) today.

To summarize

So my message to the people on Dealey Plaza is why travel great distances at equally great expense on a fool’s errand? Why devote yourselves to some unknown person’s bidding, with the impossible expectation of meeting someone such as JFK, Jr. (long dead) when a greater person than JFK, JFK Jr, and a much greater person that Q who has risen from the dead can be found in your own church, your very home, and that person is Jesus?

For those of you traveling to Dallas, TX, be sure to drive carefully if you’re in the area of Main and Lamar approaching Dealey Plaza. You may see some people holding a vigil awaiting the return of some dead celebrity and commiserating about the election of 2020.
