TRAINWRECK WAITING TO HAPPEN?

Trainwreck waiting to happen?

I have never understood the notion of taking ordinary citizens and placing them in highly technological jobs, or to represent the U.S. to the world, or to account for billions of dollars in taxpayers fund when they have trouble balancing their personal checkbook, or to make effective, executive decisions on issues they may never have heard of before. The only qualification is that they are absolutely, unquestionably loyal to one man and that they be willing to break the rules in order to demonstrate their fealty to this one person.

The next time you are walking out and about, focus on the first person you see. Would you want this person to land a Boeing 757 on which you are a passenger if an emergency occurred? Would you want the second person you see to perform life or death brain surgery or heart surgery on you? How about the next person? Would you trust them with your life savings, your home, the lives of your children? Probably not, unless you knew the first person was an accomplished pilot certified to fly 757’s, or that the second person was a neuro or cardiac surgeon who had done the procedure you need many times and successfully so. You might trust the third person, but what if they are a convicted felon and have proven to be untrustworthy time after time? Would that change your mind?

WHY DO TRAINS DERAIL

People die in train wrecks. They are crushed to death or impaled. If they are lucky, they die quickly. If not, it may take someone with a torch thirty minutes to cut them free from the wreckage and they may bleed out in the meanwhile. Or go into shock and die that way. Let’s look at some reasons that trains derail.

The number one reason for train crashes is engineer error. A train derails if the engineer takes a turn at too high of a speed. The physical forces can easily topple the engine like it was a toy. And if that train is pulling tanker cars filled with hazardous material, people in the surrounding area might develop cancer in the next two or three years. Babies may be stillborn or livebirths may have congenital deformities. If only the engineer had slowed down. But his boss told him to move that train as fast as possible, and to screw the rules. And he did just that. He may have been a great guy. But he knew he was in over his head and did not care.

Another reason trains derail is when the operator ignores warning signs. These are light boxes on the track or perhaps SMS messages that appear on his console warning him that he cannot do whatever he has decided to do. Just as railroad engineers have a rule book they must consult with and abide by, government employees have their own rulebook. It is called the Constitution of the United States. If this engineer’s boss tells him to deliberately break the rules, that train could crash into an uncoming train with an even a greater amount of injuries and death. Today we hear the words “betray” and “traitor” over and over by one faction in our society. But if we toss aside the Constitution of the United States of America, are we not the ones who are betraying a sacred trust? The trust that the framers placed on our generations to faithfully carry out the law?

Improper braking is another leading cause of railroad deaths. I suppose this is because if you brake too hard, you can cause the cars behind you to jack-knife. But I don’t know that for sure. And I don’t know the rules of the railroad, or how to safely stop a locomotive. So why would you put me in control of a 200-ton piece of steel that can travel 120 MPH? Because I am loyal to the boss? Because he and I both have little use for rules?

Folks, where has our common sense gone?! Well, if you forced me as I am and based on what little I know to climb into the engineer’s seat and drive 700 miles at 65 MPH, I guarantee you there will be a trainwreck. A serious trainwreck. So, y’all might start thinking about another way to get to your destination. DJT will be our next President. Don’t get mixed up in a seditious mob like we had on January 6, 2021. But you can contact your senators and tell them about how you feel about a nominee’s credentials to perform the responsibilities of the position they were appointed to.
