Welcome to my blog

I’ve developed a website that provides content which is somewhere between scholarly writing and gonzo journalism. The content, itself, deals with the faith that describes and defines me; politics (my area of training); current events (my area of interest); history and science (in particular, astronomy, exobiology and quantum theory) and medicine with a focus on cancer and COVID.

There are regular posts on psychology, philosophy, current events and climate change. As part of current events, you’ll find what I hope are some well researched essays on such diverse topics as migration, unidentified anomalous phenomena and Q.

Among other things, I also enjoy reading, researching and sharing information on artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics and higher ed. I’ve been involved in teaching and research at the college or university level for more than forty years.

For those of you who enjoy the outdoors, I also have posts on nature, places to visit and so on.

Veterans are particularly welcome and I have information on Agent Orange and other issues of interest to vets.

Last but not least, I have many articles on Christianity and Christian growth. I answer fundamental questions such as “Is there a God,” How do I find Him,” and “What does He expect of me?”

I try not to transgress the conventional boundaries and norms in our society, but I confess to pushing those boundaries and norms as far as I can at times. Most of my posts are okay for adolescents, but a few might be NSFW.

Overall, I attempt to be positive and civil as much as possible, but there are a few areas where I need to improve. Nor am I shy writing about controversial issues such as undocumented migrants, race and gender, poverty and consumption.

But above all, I want this to be a blog of hope, a blog of opportunities, possibilities and new beginnings. A blog where you can learn how to exchange your fears of today for the hope of tomorrow. I hope you will find this website to be a sort of “safe space” given the criticism of social media and the confusion and craziness in the world.
