A memoir by Beth Moore
I have never studied Beth Moore’s Bible studies over the last decades, but I knew quite a few friends had and they adored her. She founded Living Proof Ministries in 1994.
I found Beth Moore in a recent google question: Is there any Christian evangelical who has spoken out against Donald Trump and his transgressions against women in his life? I was so sick of reading about church leaders who from 2016 praised Trump and dismissed his “locker room” talk as “boys will be boys.” I’ve been heart broken not one leader would say what he is doing is wrong.
Beth had courage to do this in October 2016 after the Hollywood tape transcript came out. Immediately churches boxed up her ministry books and returned them and some churches burned them. She also was called a dangerous woman by the Southern Baptist Convention and eventually left her life long membership with the denomination.
She shared that for years she had been abused physically as a child, but only now in her memoir she names her abuser. Her own father. I could not put this book down yesterday and instead read all 289 pages. Beth Moore is my heroine. She knew what is right and wrong and knew she had to speak up.
We need more leaders to rise up and finally admit the truth. God help us to do so now!
